Renovation of the railway station in Ústí nad Orlicí

The subject of the Bachelor Thesis was the reconstruction of the railway station in Ústí nad Orlicí. The content of the thesis was the Documentation for Building Permits and Documentation for Building Construction, based on the architectural study, which was created in the subject AG34-Atelier of Architectural Design in the winter semester. The building is situated on the outskirts of the town of Ústí nad Orlicí, near the village Kerhatice. Tichá Orlice flows nearby, and on the northern side of the building the terrain rises into a wooded hill. The station was built in 1874. Because of spatial reasons the building was placed between two groups of tracks. At the moment the only access to the building is by underpasses or by access roads for firemen from Nádražní street. Because of the construction of the new railway station, underpasses to platforms and their repairs, the old railway station was decommissioned, but the building was saved and declared as a cultural monument. The main idea was to design an appropriate solution for the using of the old building and preserve its original appearance from the time of construction in 1874. Restore the restaurant in a single-storey building. Create residential areas for the building manager, provide temporary accommodation for travelers, locate interesting historical information about the building and linking the building to the educational trail, possible multifunctional spaces such as workshops, offices and a small shop. Also rental spaces for hairdressers and cosmetics are also available. The assignment was also a space solution next to the object that is not being maintained. Therefore, a park layout was designed which serves passengers as a relaxation zone, for children for fun. The layout is an abstraction of the sound curve of a going train.
Interpretation of local culture haritage through information panels on exemple of Prokopské údolí in Prague

This thesis focuses on nature trails and information panels and their role in the interpretation of local cultural heritage. Based on a literature search, it describes the theoretical basis of interpretation as such, the history of nature trails in the Czech Republic and worldwide, visitor issues and the educational and interpretive use of trails and panels. The main objective of this thesis is to map the current situation of nature trails in the Prokopské údolí in Prague, to evaluate their thematic focus, functionality, usability, and educational and interpretive potential. Part of the work is also a proposal for its own nature trail, which maps the industrial history of the Prokopské údolí in Prague. Návrh naučné a turistické stezky na ostrově Sokotra

The thesis focuses on designing an educational trail and tourist routes on the island of Socotra. The educational trail is located in the forest of dragon's blood trees (Dracaena cinnabari) on the Firmihin plateau. The route is approximately 6 km long with an elevation gain of 300 m. Ten information boards have been designed to describe the dragon's blood trees and the environmental issues affecting this area. The information provided includes issues such as land degradation, erosion, climate change and its impacts, inhibition of natural tree regeneration, and how local people influence this ecosystem. The same topics are also described in a 24-page brochure created in both Czech and English. Additionally, four tourist routes have been proposed in the work, which are color-coded, with three located in the Haggeher Mountains and one in the Homhil area. Information on the educational trail and tourist routes is also provided through the ArcGIS StoryMaps web platform.
The educational trails in the Jizera Mountains Protected Landscape Area and the interpretation of the environment in which they are located

My thesis is in the field of social and cultural ecology, which examines the relationship between nature and society. I focus on mediating this relationship through research on selected nature trails found in the Jizera Mountains Protected Landscape Area. In the theoretical part, I describe the protection of nature and landscape, then I focus on the Jizera Mountains where the research took place. I mention the three-phase learning model related to the trails, as they are meant to educate us, and I also discuss interpretation. Finally, I describe the phenomenon of nature trails in general. In the empirical part, I mention a subchapter on mobile QR code technology and present the application Stepping Off the Trail for visitors of the nature trails. In the following subchapters, I focus on evaluating the nature trails using a methodology I have devised. I evaluate both verbal and non-verbal elements, focusing particularly on a comprehensive evaluation that includes an overview of interpretive panels and the thematic integration into the environment. I also examine how the nature trails present the concepts of nature and its protection as a whole, related to the learning model, and I include the five principles of proper interpretation set forth in the Methodology of Principles and Methods of...
Elaboration of the design of an educational trail around the Jordán water reservoir

The aim of the master thesis is to propose an educational trail around the water reservoir Jordan, located in the city of Tabor in southern Bohemia. The design of the educational trail was preceded by the collection of knowledge about the water reservoir and its surroundings, as well as a questionnaire survey. The water reservoir is a very important technical work which was built as a drinking water supply for the town in the last decade of the 15th century and is thus one of the oldest artificial reservoirs of this type in Central Europe. Although the importance of this water reservoir is undeniable, it has received more attention thanks to the event 'Restoration of the Jordan Pond', which took place between 2011 and 2014 and brought valuable findings. Thanks to this restoration, not only was the silt removed, but the action also led to archaeological discoveries that provided a new perspective on this technical work. The design of the educational trail around the water reservoir Jordan aims to introduce visitors to the Jordan reservoir and its immediate surroundings by walking around the water body located for the most part right in the city, not far from its historic center.
Analýza naučných stezek ve vybraném modelovém území

This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of didactic paths in the Benešov district. The introduction is devoted to the notion of a didactic path and the history of this interpretation medium that serves for the education of a wide variety of target audiences. Included in this work are the enumeration and the simplified analysis of currently existing educational paths that are describing the value of the landscape to the visitors of a given area. With the use of proposed criteria and quality assessment system for didactic paths, five examples were selected and put under thorough analysis. Based on the findings, a conclusion was made that specifies the most common problems in the making and subsequent care for didactic paths in the examined area. There was also introduced a fundamental methodological approach to the analysis and quality assessment of didactic paths.
Creation an educational route for preschool children

The thesis deals with the environmental education in kindergarten and creation of the educational trail. The theoretical part of the thesis contains information and basic facts about history of environmental education. It also focuses on the legislative entrenchment within the Czech Republic and preschool education. Finally, it introduces the specific use of environmental education in kindergartens. It focuses on objectives and suitable methods for preschool education. In the practical part, the method of nature walks and educational trails was used and educational trails for preschool were created. The trails were specifically situated into the area of Křemežsko, which is often the destination of walks of Kindergarten Chlum and is also within walking distance for Kindergarten Křemže. In this location are meadows, forest, brook, stream, mill drive, linden alley and mill. It is accessible for pedestrians, lies off the main road. Three teaching programs were created on the educational trails concerning the topics Water, Plants and Lifeless Nature. In every program are six stops, guided by specific fairy or pixie according to the topic. The methodological material for teachers of local kindergartens was created, containing general information about trails, describes individual stops in detail and the annex includes all the necessary material for use on the trails.
Project of Educational cycle trail in protected landscape area in Kokořínsko

Title A Project of Educational Bicycle Trail in Kokořínsko Protected Landscape Area. Objective The aim of this work is to create a project of Educational bicycle trail in Protected Landscape Area (PLA) Kokořínsko, create an information brochure, which could be distributed to tourist information centres in the region. Methods The discussion with employees of Kokořínsko PLA and collection of information on existing bicycle trails, bicycle tracks, educational trails, natural and cultural assets in the area. Classification and verification of collected data. Using the information obtained for creating an Educationl bicycle trail. Presenting a summary in an information brochure. Assessment of the project via questionaires. Results The result of this work is a proposal of two educational cycle trails with possible combinations in Kokořínsko in form of an information brochure. The brochure includes educational texts connected to the areas on the trail, photographs and maps.
